ONOFF
Lucens Ruskin
From the Rubelli archive, a floral arabesque worn by time: burnished gold on a silver-pewter ground. Lit, the motif becomes a silhouette and light fills the eroded spaces.
Textile artworks that light up from within the weave: silk and precious yarns interwoven with luminous fibres on Rubelli looms. Made to measure, with architecture and interior studios, from concept to installation.
Light does not settle on the fabric: it is born within it and surfaces through the design. Where the motif thins, it emerges in warm gold; where the weave is dense, it rests in shadow. A warm, extended, fully dimmable light.

ONOFF
From the Rubelli archive, an abstract, almost watery erosion. Unlit it is patinated matter; lit, it is crossed by silver and blue reflections.
ONOFF
From the Rubelli archive, broad, sinuous arabesque ribbons: the most graphic line of the series. Lit, it is the ground that becomes light; the scrolls stay in shadow.

The same design, reversed. Lit, it is the line that becomes light: threads of filigree on a ground of shadow.
We also weave special canvases, developed together with the client and sampled before production.
Lucens is made up as panels, for wall and ceiling installations, or applied to screens and furniture. Size, shape, finish and frame are defined for each project.

We accompany designers at every stage: from fabric choice to sample, from frame design to installation. Every work is made to measure, in size, format and design.
Plan, intended use, lighting function.
Fabric, format, frame and colour temperature. Physical samples, lit and unlit.
Weaving on the historic Rubelli looms; making-up and wiring entirely in Italy.
Specifications for the electrical system, coordination with the contractor, commissioning on site.
Silk and precious yarns, interwoven with luminous fibres on the historic Rubelli looms near Como, and the lighting technology developed by Texlum: a quality light, warm and soft, with no visible source, that seems to belong to the fabric itself.
The name weaves two Latin words: textum — at once text and textile — and lumen, light. From Venice, a city where light is living matter, we build works that make it visible.
“In all things that live there are certain irregularities which are not only signs of life, but sources of beauty.”
John Ruskin, The Stones of Venice
A portable LED lamp, inspired by the irregular, surprising architecture of Venice. The diffuser, lined with Rubelli fabric, turns light into a soft, textured glow that recalls ancient stone and sun-warmed plaster.

ONOFFLike the human body, the gondolas and the medieval palaces, Eccentrica is asymmetrical by nature. That is where its beauty lies.
